TabCharacteristics
GeneralUsed to specify the name of the control and the display characteristics of the control. For example:
  • the caption of the control (this caption can be multilingual).
  • the type of information displayed in the control (text, numeric, ...).
  • the display mask used for the control (the mask can be multilingual). See the Different display masks for more details.

Main print parameters of the report controls
The print parameters of a control are as follows (defined in the "Details" tab of the description window):
ConfiguresDescriptionAvailable for the following controls
可见The control can be displayed or not. This characteristic can be modified by programming with ..可见.Static, Item, Calculated control, Image, Bar code, RTF control, Preset control, Chart, Shape, Internal Report control
Auto-sizableThe control size defined in the report editor can be enlarged according to the content of the control. The controls that follow the "auto-sizable" control will be moved automatically.
Notes:
  • If a control is not an auto-sizable control, its content can be truncated if the size of the control is too small.
To find out the height of an auto-sizable control by programming when this control size is enlarged, use ..未来高度.
  • If a control found in a block is an auto-sizable control, the associated block will automatically be auto-sizable. A block containing auto-sizable controls is auto-sizable. A block containing no auto-sizable control is not auto-sizable.
  • The controls found in a page footer cannot be auto-sizable controls.
Limit: In a Label report, the controls cannot be auto-sizable controls.
Static, Item, Calculated control, Shape, Bar code, Internal Report control
Multi-lineThe content of the control can be displayed over several lines. This characteristic can be modified by programming with ..多行.
Notes:
  • The height of the control must be sufficient to display several lines.
  • To modify the height of a control by programming, use ..高度.
  • If an orientation angle is applied to a multi-line control, the automatic CR characters are ignored. Only the manual CR characters are taken into account.
Static, Item, Calculated control, Preset control
BreakableThe content of a breakable control can be printed over several pages if there is not enough space to print the entire control on a page.
Notes:
  • In order for a control to be a breakable control, the block containing the control must also be breakable.
  • If there is not enough space on the current page to print a non-breakable control, the entire control will be printed on the next page.
Static, Item, Calculated control, Image, Bar code, RTF control, Preset control, Chart, Shape
Reset if zeroThe value of the control is displayed only if the value of the control differs from 0.
If the value of the control is equal to 0, the control displays an empty string ("").
Item, Calculated control
Displayed when the value changesThe value of the control is displayed only if the value of the linked item changes when going to the next record in the data source of the report.Item, Calculated control
Reset to 0 after printThe value of the control is automatically reset to 0 once it was printed.
This parameter is often used for the calculations on break.
Calculated control
RTF formatThe value of the control can be in RTF format.
Reminder: The RTF format is used to take into account the attributes of the characters (bold, italic, underline, ...) found in a text.
Static, Item, RTF control
Use the shared information at run timeThe control will display the "shared information" of the item linked to the control (and not the subscript corresponding to this "shared information").
For example, the "RAD info" of the "Title" item corresponds to the following combo box:
Only the subscripts of "Shared Info" are stored in the database.
Item
Horizontal/Vertical gridlinesThe horizontal and/or vertical gridlines can be displayed (or not) in a chart.Chart

Using the modifier

Overview

The modifier is used to view and/or modify from the report editor the main characteristics:

    • in the report directly (see Select one or more controls).
    • via the drop-down list of the modifier. In this case, a single control can be selected at a time. The handles of the selected control are automatically displayed.
If several controls are selected, only the information common to the selected controls is displayed in the modifier.
  2. Perform the necessary modifications. These modifications are performed on all the controls. You can:
    • select the new value in a drop-down list.
    • select the new value in a screen (color modification for example).
    • modify the value directly.
